Swedish Massage

Unwind Bodywork also offers Swedish Massage. This is a Western-style massage commonly found in most US spas. Swedish Massage is relaxing, wherein practitioners use oils to massage muscles.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage targets muscles deep below the body's surface using slower and more targeted techniques such as compression with direct pressure, friction, stretching, or kneading. The nature of deep tissue massage makes it an effective technique for individuals with chronic pain conditions who benefit from a firmer touch.

Cupping

Cupping is a type of therapy which employs the use of suction to create a vacuum inside the cup which pulls the skin upward. This treatment is believed to allow the fascia below the skin's surface to relax, making it an effective treatment for people with chronic pain.

Hot Stone

In a hot stone massage, your practitioner will use heated stones to relax your muscles while you receive your massage. This gentle heat helps to alleviate muscle tension, allowing your practitioner to work through your aches and pains.

Meet our Team

Unwind Bodywork was founded in 2018 by Beth Petersen. In 2024, Cassidy Eidsness took over ownership after working under Beth’s direction. Cassidy continues the mission and vision Beth laid out from the beginning,

Our belief is that a lack of mobility commonly leads to pain, pain leads to decreased activity levels, which ultimately leads to loss of independence later in life. Our mission is to empower individuals to maintain their active lifestyles by improving range of motion, releasing pain and tension, and encouraging home care. We achieve this by employing the use of Thai Massage treatments and encouraging all individuals to take control of their health and wellness.

  • Owner

Cassidy has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2023. She studied Massage Therapy at Stewart's School in Sioux Falls, where she learned several massage modalities including Thai Massage. Cassidy had previously been familiar with Thai Massage prior to pursuing her education in Massage Therapy. Due to the immense benefits she received from Thai Massage, she set out to help others in the same way. Her intention is to have every client leave feeling better and more relaxed than when they arrived.

  • Founder

Beth has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2013, when she graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Saint Paul College in Saint Paul, MN. She began teaching Massage Therapy at Stewart's School in Sioux Falls in 2019, and continues to substitute on occasion. Among the many modalities and techniques Beth has learned, she was instantly drawn to Thai Massage due to its therapeutic benefits and accessibility.

Prior to her career in Massage Therapy, Beth worked with individuals with physical and developmental disabilities. During her time there, she noticed a direct correlation between the consistent use of physical therapy stretches/exercises and the maintenance of independence. This shaped her belief that lack of mobility often leads to pain; which leads to decreased activity levels and further mobility depreciation; and ultimately a loss of independence. Her experience inspired her to pursue her education in bodywork, where she discovered that Thai Massage fit the purpose she set out to achieve. Beth's mission is to empower all individuals to maintain their active lifestyles by improving range of motion, releasing pain and tension, and encouraging home care.

While Beth no longer owns or operates this location, we still hold her values and vision. She continues to be involved behind the scenes, helping us continue on the path she laid out.
